January 2, 2012: Day Two

I go back to work tomorrow. I really hope that my taking control of my life also helps me take control of my work schedule. I have a busy six months ahead of me with four huge events to plan. I love event planning but I am learning quickly that it takes more than organization to cope with all the facets of my job.

To prepare for the craziness of work, I decided that an organized home would mean a more organized life all-around. I literally attacked my clothing situation. I love shopping, love, love, love it. But my closet is so full of clothes (especially old and out dated ones) that it is just too much. Three hours and the help of a very organized friend, I eliminated my clothing by half! It was so freeing! (I will post pictures soon!)

DAY TWO:
  • Nick finished the closet project- pictures soon!
  • We went through ALL of my clothes... I mean ALL of them. I had two closets and two dressers. I literally got rid of half of the clothes. It was so freeing!
  • We resisted the urge to go out to grab food, and bought bread, meat and cheese instead! A small victory, but one that saved us at least ten dollars!
  • I finished reorganizing the kitchen. I had taken out EVERYTHING from all the cupboards, purged old and duplicate items and cleaned the counters.
  • I attacked the pantry and organized the crap out of it!
